I recently created 3 pieces for Slay-a-thon, a Make A Wish, Buffy (Whedon-verse) themed charity event. Here are the results. It was more challenging than I thought it would be, especially since I haven't created "real" art in years. I fear I have become too dependent on ctrl z.

Figure Session 40
Here is the last session until September. This has been a fun experiment, and I look forward to continuing it.

Figure Session 36
After I added the cooler blue to the drawings I decided that the reddish brown wasn't warm enough by itself.. With these two I began adding a bright yellow pastel as well.

Figure Session 31
I tried something different with these and introduced another color (blue) into the chalks I was using. The ink was a nice diversion, but I enjoy the range of tone that I get from conte and pastels. The sessions usually do not include strong directional lighting, rather there is one warm lamp, and then the rest of the cooler florescent bulbs from the ceiling lighting. I am using the blue to light the shadow areas and to play up the subtle change in plane of the human form. That almost sounded like I know what I'm talking about :).

Figure Session 26
Occasionally we hire a local Spanish dancing troop to lend us a member to draw, here is one of them.
