I am most proud of this session for a couple of reasons. These are probably the best group of drawings I have produced since getting back into figure drawing. In addition, the first time I drew this model (Session 4) I struggled to capture her adequately. I left the session excited and ready to see the Midnight showing of Tron a couple hours later. It's awesome!
Full figured models can be great for learning how to capture a real sense of the figural form. This session has also set my general work flow for these sessions from now on. I'm continuing to deal with proportional issues and capturing the likeness of the model, but I feel like I am making progress.
I have caught up on posting sessions, and need to go to more before I can post more. Here is an older drawing I did from a photo in Photoshop. Not sure how long I worked on it but its fair to say more than an hour.
Looking over the photos for session 4 is where I started to notice an odd trend in my drawings. I have been shrinking the heads of the models on top of other proportional anomalies. This is perhaps due to wanting to cram the entire figure on the 11x17 page I am working with, or maybe just a slide in my perceptive abilities from a long figure drawing absence. I became exceedingly aware of this trend after looking through all the pictures for this blog.
